Frontier Justice

It's the morning after and I'm still not sure how to feel about what I saw last night. Amazement is still wrestling with Appalled.

Time to Think

For fans of the top seeds, the wild card round is all about wishful thinking. Hoping the match ups in the divisional round work out in your team's favor.

Founding Shooters

Does anybody really know what the founding fathers meant, what their intent was, when they wrote the Constitution. Certainly, they couldn't have foreseen radical Islamic terrorism; they were too worried about Catholics. It's fair to assume they wrote the Constitution within the framework of their their time. They were cool with slavery. Up to a point. Up to .60. Anyway, as I think about the 2nd Amendment and the founding fathers, here's what I think they were thinking when they wrote this:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Everyone gets a musket.

Keeping Good Thoughts

After writing about my perfect Sunday last week, I should probably keep my optimism in a Ziploc bag, where it could suffocate and die, gasping, eyes bulging.

In Case You Were Wondering

Just two weeks ago, pigskin pundits and bobbleheads wondered aloud if Bill Belichick chose to kickoff in OT against the Jets to lose on purpose, essentially knocking the Steelers - the team nobody wanted to see in the playoffs just three weeks ago - out of the playoffs.

Okay, that didn't work out so well. Who saw the Jets choking away their chance at Super Bowl glory? Oh, wait. I did

"The only other thing I have going for me is the Jets being the Jets. Let's face it. This is a franchise that seems genetically engineered to snatch tragedy from the jaws of victory."

So, what was Belichick up to in that Miami game?

He was convincing the Miami Dolphins that Ryan Tannehill is their franchise quarterback.

My Perfect Sunday

Wasn't this supposed to be the year the rest of the AFC East caught up with the Patriots?
