While Contemplating the Six Feet of Snow in my Front Yard

Waiting. Waiting for Revis. Waiting. Waiting for the Wells Report on Deflategate. Waiting. Waiting for updates to mock drafts. Wondering why the mockers project players who don't fit the Patriots' profile of positional flexibility and short area quickness. You know you're getting it wrong again this year, don't you?

Risky Biscuits

Imagine for a moment you're Bill Belichick. Steady. It's easy to be overwhelmed by the sudden rush of power. You may feel a little lightheaded for a moment or two. Okay? It's Day 1 of the NFL Draft and you're on the clock with the 32nd pick. Dorial Green-Beckham is still available…

Perception

Recent posts by Greg Doyel and Ron Borges should give any reasonable person cause to step back and examine their own perceptions, assumptions and beliefs when it comes to Deflategate.

Not that I'm claiming to be a reasonable person.

Replacement Parts

Shane Vereen wants $5m a year. The Patriots are interviewing placekickers at the Combine. Everybody's trying to talk themselves into believing Dorial Green-Beckham is the second coming of Calvin Johnson. It's time for hope. Reason will have to wait.

Integrity

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
-       Inigo Montoya

So, I guess we know, now. I'd wondered aloud if Deflategate was a shockingly inept attempt to frame the Patriots or it was simply that the NFL is a clown car of ineptitude.

It’s both. It's definitely both.

It's Not Paranoia if Someone is Out to Get You

Finally! It's been forever since there's been a head-scratching, agenda-driven, look at me leak from the Warren Commission Wells Investigation as Deflategate continues to metastasize.

Word.

Bad Reputation

It isn't the hate, it's the blindly rabid, teeth bared, snarling, snapping lust for blood that scares me. Just a little. I mean – ha, ha – so what if it’s statistically likely you have a gun. Ha, ha! That was funny what you said!

This Movie Gets Better Every Time I Watch It

You know what's great about your team winning one of the best Super Bowls ever? Replays of that game will be shown forever. And every time they show the replay, your team wins. It's awesome. I can't deny it. Is heroin like this? It would certainly explain its popularity.

Hey, look! There’s another replay on the NFL Network!

At the Risk of Repeating Myself

When does some savvy Hollywood producer sign Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman for the “it just writes itself” buddy cop movie?

I Can't Stop This Feeling

I spent fifteen minutes today reading comments on this Pro Football Talk post about cheating. For amusement purposes, only. The trolls that popped out from under their bridges, flinging their noisome feces at the Patriots (and the author) did not disappoint. I felt sorry for some of them, their aim was so poor.

Unlike Tom Brady!

Thank you, thank you. I’ll be here all week. Try the veal and don’t forget to tip your waitress!

It Keeps Getting Better

I think I may have seen the Malcolm Butler interception over a thousand times as of right… now. Seriously. I was at a business dinner with co-workers from Belfast, New York and yes, Seattle at the local Buffalo Wild Wings last night. Butler intercepted that Russell Wilson pass multiple times on multiple screens. It was that guy from Seattle’s glimpse of pigskin Hell, I’m sure. I rather enjoyed it. It feels good. It feels real good.

I want to thank God, my accountant, my beautiful wife and above average children, my mom and dad and everyone who helped me get here but most of all I want to thank the haters. You made this game so much more than even I could've ever imagined.

Thank you.

Thank you so, so much.

Winners and Losers

It’s a commonly used storyline by pundits and bobbleheads. Did Team X win the game or did Team Y lose it?

Best. Game. Ever.

So. you can't say they haven't won anything since Spygate now, can you?

Just a Few Ticks

Seriously. This is what The League was so angry and distraught about? A few ticks? This is what they’re spending hundreds of thousands of dollars investigating?

I think these guys might want to think about apologizing to Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots right now.

History

They’ll be rewriting the NFL’s post-season record book in Super Bowl XLIX.
