Can't Wait For Next Year

You would’ve needed a stop watch to time just how fast the New England Patriots went from plucky overachievers to disappointing losers. Hard to call it shocking as the recriminations and obituaries seemed so predictable. Somehow an eighth AFC Championship in twelve years despite all the adversity wasn’t something to celebrate, it was just another post-Spygate failure, a reminder that Tom Brady isn’t getting any younger, a moment in the arc of time that is much closer to the end than the beginning. Emotion Got The Better of Me

Losing hurts. Emotions of the moment will get the better of you. It happens. It happens when you win, too. Opposite end of the spectrum; extreme states of mind.

Richard Sherman and Bill Belichick both spoke from the heart last Sunday and Monday. Sherman’s now infamous post-game rant lit up the internet, crowd-sourcing a discussion on everything from Erin Andrews’ cred as a sideline reporter to the not so comfortable reminder that middle-aged white America still isn’t ready for an angry black Jesus. Bills Belichick’s view that ex-Pat Wes Welker took a deliberate, illegal and immoral shot at Aqib Talib didn’t generate nearly as much discussion. It was just Bill being Bill; a mean, bitter, petty spoilsport.

Everything Ends Badly for at Least One of the Parties Involved

Good call.

It was a good, unexpected, entertaining, never-say-die, emotional roller coaster of a season but it's over. I've already turned the page. When do OTAs begin for 2014?

Oh and, go Seahawks!
