The Pats finally signed Ezekial Elliot. I'm hoping New England got the Ezekiel that Samuel L. Jackson was talking about in "Pulp Fiction." That would be nice.
Still worried about the O-Line?
Yeah.
Still worried about everything.
Football, like life, is an adventure.
But adventure is a tricky word. It sounds exciting. Wouldn't it be great to go on an adventure? Yeah, okay, but I'm pretty sure the other side of that coin is etched with the word "Disaster."
When people say "adventure," they're thinking they'll survive the white water rafting trip their idiot brother talked them into, or that the sherpas can get them to the summit and back down with all their fingers and toes intact, or that swimming with sharks won't end as swimming in sharks.
Yes, an "adventure" sounds great but that's usually only true when the adventure is trying a new restaurant your best friends have been raving about. Not every adventure ends in triumph, after all; nor every risotto, for that matter.
The Zeke Elliot signing certainly qualifies as an adventure for Patriots fans. Maybe he puts New England back into playoff contention. Elliot - assuming he still has about a quarter of the tank full - and Rhamondre Stevenson can present a formidable backfield duo. Elliot is actually a year younger than "Clock Killin'" Corey Dillon was when he came to Foxborough. Running the football - and the clock - might be a key to the Patriots success in 2023. Negate the speed and athleticism of the offenses in the AFC East by keeping them on the sideline. Assuming the Pats can find five healthy, credible offensive lineman, of course.
Hmm…
Maybe this is just the recipe for a really bad risotto.
Risotto ain't easy, you know. It takes time to get it right.
Just like football.
The thing I have to remind myself is this: The pigskin pundits and bobbleheads telling us what it means don’t really know. It may sound like they do but trust me.
None of us are going to know until we actually try the risotto.
It should be ready September 10th.
Go Pats!
