Picturing Pigskins

I've always believed that real life is not like the movies and now I can only hope I was right about that. Because you just know Jacob Elordi is playing Jarrett Stidham in the movie version of the 2025 NFL Playoffs.

I know. The Patriots have had more than their share of "only in Hollywood" moments this season. I've called them a Team of Destiny. It doesn't get much more Hollywood than that. But I can't help wondering…

What happens when narratives collide?

What happens when your best Hollywood comp for your starting QB is the kid who played Dustin on Stranger Things.

I will say, these comps have not raised my confidence level.

I can see Drake Maye > Jarrett Stidham, but…

Gaten Matarazzo > Jacob Elordi?

Quick Aside: Just ask any woman in your life that question and if they tell you Gaten Matarazzo you should know they're lying to make you feel better.

Then again, that Dustin kid did go toe-to-toe with demogorgons, a shadowy paramilitary government agency attempting to weaponize evil, and high school bullies. So there's that…

Unfortunately in this life, it's often the case that two things can be true. Drake Maye is the better quarterback, and that usually makes the difference in the NFL, but it's also true that Jarrett Stidham could play the greatest game of his NFL career this Sunday and pull off the upset.

It's why they play the game.

It's why I'm pricing home defibrillators

Go Pats!
